Is There Strategy?

More than you'd expect. The deck isn't random — it's a fixed 52-card deck with no replacement until it's exhausted. This means informal card counting is possible and useful:

• Current card is 2–5: almost always guess Higher
• Current card is 9–King: almost always guess Lower
• 6–8: roughly 50/50 — go with your gut
• Ace is high — always guess Lower from an Ace

The Streak System

The streak mechanic is what makes Higher or Lower genuinely exciting. A player on a streak of 6 gives out 6 drinks on their next correct guess — powerful enough to shift the whole dynamic. The longer the streak runs, the more everyone watches, which is exactly the tension a good party game needs.
